Quarter Two
May
Cheers to another year around the sun! I turned 27 in the month of May, continued my solo travel adventures and found myself in Miami for the first time. This was one of the greatest trips I have ever taken because I was in touch with a lot of things that mattered to me in my life, I was the healthiest I had been in a long time, and I could finally swim in the salty ocean water with complete confidence. I took beginner swimming lessons earlier in the year and did not have the opportunity to show off my skills until this trip so having access to a pool AND a beach was legendary. I was originally suppose to stay in Miami for 5 days but it’s something about that sunshine and shopping that led me to stay an extra day. The elation I felt while on this vacation is a feeling I chase on a daily basis.
Now, let’s take a dive into some of my looks from the trip…
I considered myself to be a wallflower for most of my teens and early twenties even though I’ve been stylish since a baby. I didn’t want to take pictures or look at myself in the mirror at times or be the center of attention which contributed to my low self-esteem and bottom level self-confidence. I took a backseat to chasing my dreams of being a stylist to the stars to going to my corporate job that didn’t really accept me thus adding another layer of insecurity to my messy plate. I was struggling to get my life back on track. Let’s bring the energy back up to this incredible trip that put my mindset in a better place and the surge to reignite my blog. We are taking a trip to Wynwood Walls.
This street art museum was on the top of my list when coming to Miami. It was simulating, colorful, and carried various styles of street art and many talented artists. The museum is mostly outdoor, with a few indoor air-conditioned exhibits, and features some installations with augmented reality. They also had the best gift shop with clothing merch, coffee table books, and other timeless knick-knacks. As I stated in my Q1 post, I gain ideas from art and this was the perfect place to boost my creative juices.
